We absolutely love this place. Cheap, but amazing food!They actually have ice cream sodas!The burgers and cheese sticks are some of the best I've ever had.Such a cute family owned place that's been a community staple since the 50s!

This place is nice! Prices are a little high, but it is over all worth it. Good atmosphere, good fresh food, and a lot of dessert options. Be ready to spend about $10 per person. The cheeseburgers are super duper good! Chicken is OK, but needs a little salt and pepper. Dipped cones are great also.

Absolutely delicious! The chicken tenders are HUGE and made in house with really high quality chicken and such a tasty breading. Loved the cauliflower bites! They're super crunchy and yummy. Awesome service and very welcoming family environment. Ice cream was super yummy too. We will be back!

Always good good. The ocean cream hits the spot. There is a reason they have been in business since 1954. Service is reliable even when they are slammed busy.

This is by far the best burger spot if you want a nice, genuine experience. I’ve been going here since I was really little, and they’ve had consistent service. The wait time could be a little shorter, but otherwise great!

Struggled to find it, and almost kept driving when we saw it, but I'm glad we stayed. We got typical diner food:chicken, a burger, fries, and onion rings,all of which were exceptional. The staff were very efficient and friendly. The whole place seems to be very meticulously maintained. Very clean and very well cared for. We will go back!

This place always brings back childhood for me. My mom would take us here as a treat or we'd come after baseball games. The burgers are "smashed" style on the griddle, super tasty. Their fried chicken is always super hot and fresh, and they have a bunch of fresh fish options as well. Arguably, the best part is their ice cream. I always go with the concrete, it's the best in STL. Yep, I went there. Get in here and fill up the tank, it's delicious food and super friendly people. Mr. Young will be happy to talk to you if you chat him up.

I was born and raised in Valley Park. It was my first solid food as a baby. I grew up in the days of the ice cream stand. I remember them catering to Sacred Heart on wednesdays for lunch. And have seen all the changes in locations. Now, 48 years later I still frequently dine there. I love Youngs in my heart, and belly. lol

The perfect combination of twin peaks and crusty crab. Definitely recommend this little place if you want some onion rings or a soft serve cone 11/10 and the owner is really nice too

Until today I had no idea this place even existed. I had the chicken strips with fries and it was AMAZING! Very fresh and absolutely delicious. Great service as well. Will definitely be returning for more.

Great place for a good steak burger. Prices are pretty good too. Definitely worth stopping. Currently masks are worn ordering, sitting you can take them off.

The young gentleman who worked at the register was amazing today. He even said bye to customers by their names. I usually only write reviews when I’m angry from bad service on google but he deserves a good review and a raise. All the employees delivered good service. Great environment. My family enjoyed the food. I highly recommend the cherry dipped ice cream cones. It was the best part of my day.

We've come here almost every time we come to Missouri. Burgers, fried chicken, fish, soup and more. Their dessert menu is just as diverse with treats. The people are friendly & fast. SO GOOD!

This place was like the best kept secret, we really didn't know of them. While my wife was furniture shopping at Carol House I got into a small talk conversation with our salesman and somehow got onto the subject of fried chicken. We are always looking for a restaurants that offers fried chicken and have on occasion driven 60 miles to check out a tip about an exceptional fried chicken restaurant. Our salesman mentioned a placed named Young's Restaurant & Ice Creamery and I asked where they where located and he pointed across Hwy. 141 there in Valley Park. On our next Wednesday evening date night we went to Young's and ordered the chicken. It was very good, the coating was not heavy and was deliciously seasoned, not greasy and was added to our go to restuarant for chicken. The fries and coleslaw were also very good. They also have a fairly extensive ice cream, shake and sundae menu. We will definitely go back!

An institution that EARNED it. This place is the secret, tucked-away place that you will wish you discovered years ago. The meat whether it be beef, chicken, or fish will be on point because they care about quality. I usually get a burger or fried chicken, but I HIGHLY recommend the cheese sticks which are little perfectly gold melted cheese filled delicacies. Oh and you have to try the ice cream. Dipped red cones forever :)

Super laid back and great. The customer service was nice. Food was all really delicious including all the ice cream!! Bonus we were able to watch some trains come through while we ate.

The burgers are steak n shake thin style but leaps and bounds better! Fries are amazing and their menu is awesome. Offer lots of stuff and the icecream options are fantastic. You can even get a piece of pie in a concrete!! Definitely coming back!

Great burger joint. From what my friend said about his fried chicken, it's also great! Love the throwback feel of a simple burger joint. Staff is extremely friendly. Not the fastest service, but that is ok in todays fast paced society. Plan on coming back with my kiddos!

Great place for a burger and a malt. It's tucked away so it's easy not to notice. Now that we know it's here we'll be back.

The fried chicken was fresh, light crispy batter, not greasy. Service was very fast, the dude at the counter was kind and helpful. I didnt have to wait at all.

This was my first time going to this restaurant. My sister discovered it on Google. After reading the reviews, we wanted to go. We found the reviews to be on target. The staff (some family) were all very kind and eager to please. We got the chicken, mashed potatoes, and slaw. It was excellent! We will go back again and order something different to see how we like that.

Great broasted chicken and fried mushrooms. Ask for the horseradish dip for the the mushrooms!! It is very clean and homey inside. Don't be fooled by the exterior!

The owners have gotten very, very greedy. This place is very expensive. Now they have reduced the size of their shakes (cup size's) and are charging the same price. Just wait until you pay and you will see what I mean. We would come back if the prices were reasonable.

Young's is a great lunch spot. Staff is super friendly and the feel of the place is very homey. Food was hot and tasty, if not the most healthy - but if you're looking for healthy food in a place that specializes in fried chicken and ice cream, you have bigger problems. Try the chili cheese fries.

Everything I have tried so far has been delicious. The food is homemade and the chili was delicious. Family owned and operated and take the time out to answer any questions. Must visit you won't regret😉
